Coefficient | A multiplicative factor such as the constant in front of a polynomial term. |
Geometric Mean | A method of averaging n numbers by multiplying them together and taking the nth root (rather than the usual "arithmetic" method of adding and dividing). |
Infinity | An unbounded quantity greater than every real number. |
Quadratic Equation | A polynomial equation in a single variable containing the square of the variable, but no higher powers. |
Quadratic Formula | The formula that gives the roots of a quadratic equation. |
Root | For a function, any arguments for which the function assumes the value of zero. |
Subset | A portion of a set. Subsets can also consist of the entire set or be empty. |
Union | For two sets A and B, the set of all elements appearing either
