Standard Application Online (SAO)

The Standard Application Online for admission to independent boarding and day schools has been designed to simplify the admission process for student and teachers who must complete recommendations. It was developed to make applying to independent schools easier and faster, and it is accepted by most SSATB member schools.
The Standard Application Online allows fami­lies to fill out an online applica­tion and obtain one set of teacher recommendations that can be used to apply to any number of private schools that accept the SAO.
The SAO eliminates the need to fill out multiple (and often redundant) forms.

 

Standard Test Locations

The Test Center Lists page provides detailed test center information by country and state. Find a National Test Center near you and apply or submit an inquiry to an SSATB member school.

If you observe a Saturday Sabbath and need to test on a Sunday, do not use this test center list search,

Types of SSAT Administrations

SSAT "Standard Test"
A Standard test is a group administration held at many sites worldwide on 8 Saturdays each year (see Test Calendar).

• You may take a standard test as often as you like, up to 8 times per year.
• You may register online until the Wednesday prior to the test date subject to availability.
• Additional fees apply for registrations created after regular registration closes.

SSAT "Flex Test"
A flex test is a group or individual administration on any date other than the standard test dates. If you are testing with an educational consultant, you will take a "closed" flex test, which requires an access code obtained directly from the educational consultant.

• Although flex tests occur throughout the testing year, a student may only take the FLEX test one time.
• If you have already tested at a FLEX administration this academic year, you may not register for another flex test.
• If you have already tested and do not know what type of test you took, please contact SSAT before continuing.
• You should only register for the closed flex test if you have already made an appointment for a flex test administration.

SSAT "Regional Flex Test" or "Open" Flex Test
Several regional consortia offer test administrations on dates other than the standard test dates. Although they are called Regional Tests, these are considered flex test administrations. Therefore, a student may test at one open regional flex administration OR one closed flex administration per year.
